ELIA - the European Language Industry Association is a not-for-profit association of language service companies in Europe. Founded in 2005, ELIA has become the leading trade association for the language services industry in Europe. “ELIA - Together 2024” is an initiative that aims to bring together freelance language professionals, language service companies, and industry leaders for positive discussions and mutual growth.
“ELIA - Together 2024” is centered around the theme “Perfect Harmony,” highlighting the collaborative nature of professional relationships and the use of technology to meet market demands. The event has two tracks:
- Track A: We are on the same side. This track discusses the valuable role of the latest tools and technology, such as machine translation post-editing, artificial intelligence, automation, and CAT tools in the translation and localization process.
- Track B: Let’s meet in the middle. This track focuses on finding common ground and working harmoniously with counterparts and partners. Topics include establishing healthy relationships between project managers and freelancers, strategies for attracting new clients, navigating the market, onboarding processes for vendors and linguists, and empowering project managers to make challenging decisions.

GALA Annual Conference

GALA - the Globalization and Localization Association is a trade association that serves and supports the language services and technology industry. GALA annual conferences have become one of the regular gathering places for professionals in the translation and localization sector and have earned a reputation for being open, inclusive places to learn with peers.
This year’s conference theme is “Navigating the Rise of AI: Dos and Don’ts, Myths and Truths for a New AI-Assisted Localization Industry”.
